Who We Are

Our Mission

Committed to faith. Dedicated to academics. Connected to community.

For more than 80 years Our Lady of Lourdes has served southeastern Omaha, from more than 24+ zip codes in the Metro. Many students come from lineages interwoven with Our Lady of Lourdes' history. While honoring this history, we look forward to meeting new families at our school.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School provides a quality academic education, while providing a safe and multi-cultural experience centered on Christ. The school environment is safe, respectful, kind, and giving. At OLL, both learning and living are shaped and formed by faith.

Our mission is to educate each student to become academically successful, community-minded citizens who will be active and loyal members of their Church and community.

Our goal is that all students will be living examples of our Catholic Faith: The charisms of being prayerful and of being stewards of our Catholic faith will be practiced and developed by staff and students. We are practicing servant leaders within our community.

Our school admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

Our students will demonstrate:

Religious knowledge, virtues, and practices

Knowledge of core disciplines and the fine arts

Higher order thinking skills

Utilization and application of technology in learning

Effective social interaction skills

Independent learning skills

Foundation of Faith

Our curriculum is focused on providing a faith-based education encompassing everything we do at Our Lady of Lourdes. We live our Faith not only in the classroom or during sporting events, but in our daily lives with community outreach service projects. While we are a Catholic school, we welcome students of all faiths and backgrounds into our school community.

At Our Lady of Lourdes:

Curriculum

Our Lady of Lourdes School is accredited by the State of Nebraska and uses the Omaha Archdiocesan standards-based curriculum to drive and focus our instruction. Our academic curriculum includes these core areas: religion, language arts, math, social studies, and science. Additionally, we offer Spanish, music, physical education, art, and library media. All students in fifth – eighth grade discover online Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing as part of our science curriculum.

Technology in the Classroom

Our Lady of Lourdes is a blended learning community, which means we combine traditional classroom instruction with computer-mediated activities. Technology is used to transform and improve the learning process for our students. Blended learning helps us reach and teach students more effectively. It also provides our educators with an opportunity to collect data to help customize instruction and assessment of students based on individual needs.

Extracurricular Activities

Whether your child is interested in academic clubs, programs to express creativity, or sports, Our Lady of Lourdes has something for every student. We offer a wide variety of extracurricular programs to enhance student learning in math, science, engineering, reading, writing, religion, art, and music. Students can take part in robotics, poetry, art, reading, math, student council, knitting, and Bible studies. Our athletic program includes soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and football.
