A Faith-Filled Start to Lifelong LearningOur Early Childhood Program helps children ages 3 and up build a strong foundation—academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Through play-based learning and small-group lessons, we meet each child where they are and help them grow with confidence and joy. Rooted in Catholic values and guided by Nebraska and archdiocesan standards, our preschool and pre-K programs prepare children for a successful transition into kindergarten and beyond. From daily routines to hands-on activities, your child will be supported, known and inspired every step of the way.

At Our lady of Lourdes children will practice important social and life skills, along with developing fine and large motor coordination skills. Learning to follow instructions and accept decisions before heading into pre-k will set them up for a successful start in school.
Preschool is offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from from 8am-11am only.
After care is not available for preschool students at this time.
Preschool students wear the OLL school uniform.
“Our goal is to prepare our students with the basic skills they will require to be prepared and successful in Kindergarten.” |
Hello! My name is Renee Hernandez, Miss Renee, and I am the Pre-K teacher at OLL. Our program is curriculum based and follows the standards at the state and federal level. Our program focuses on the 6 areas of development:
|
Pre-K classes are every day, and families have the option to choose between a full from from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. or half-day from 8:00 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Our staff helps children gain confidence and self-awareness as they explore and play. Our littlest learners will wear the same uniform as our older students as they also learn self-control and how to treat each other with kindness. All Consortium schools use social-emotional curriculum through Friendzy, and all teachers are excellent examples of patience and encouragement.

While we spend a lot of time on developing fine and gross motor skills like holding a pencil and using scissors, we also teach number and letter recognition, and it’s fun to watch students start to show interest in reading and writing. It’s always rewarding to see when the students begin to identify and correctly use letters to spell their own names and other words. The goal is for all to grow into confident readers, writers and communicators!

Our preschool and pre-K students develop number sense by counting, recognizing numeric symbols and understanding math concepts like “more” and “less.” They also explore shapes and patterns and start to work with measurements and comparisons. Learning in math, as well as science and other subjects, happens through lots of sensory, hands-on experiences as young students begin to understand the world around them.

At this age, movement and play are a big part of how students express themselves. To support whole-child development, classes engage in singing and dancing and learn rhythm and coordination. Art and other dramatic play activities also help children use their imagination and build social skills and confidence.

Our preschool and pre-K classrooms have visual examples of our Catholic faith to help children recognize and build a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ. The daily routine includes time for prayer, including formal prayers and practice making the sign of the cross, as well as listening to Bible stories read aloud.
